PARTNERS IN TRANSFORMATION
Students
Youths in High Schools, Universities and Polytechnics, Youth Groups, Clubs, and Sponsorship Programs are the primary audiences for life-changing leadership development training.
For example, in Accra, Ghana, more than 5,900 first-year students across five senior high schools successfully completed a Leadership & Development Studies training program during the 2025 orientation period. This marks a significant investment in youth leadership and character formation.
Teachers in Schools
Trained teachers utilise the Leadership & Development Studies (LADS) curriculum to teach and empower youths in transformational leadership.
Teachers from two primary schools in South Africa completed mentorship training and graduated after working with learners for over six months. The curriculum covered personal development, teamwork, time management, leadership skills, excellence, and financial responsibility. The program added value for teachers and for learners who serve as prefects and members of Representative Councils of Learners (RCLs).
Youth Groups
Youth Mentors in Communities and other youth focused organisations have utilised the skills they learnt through LADS to begin Transformation Projects to benefit their local communities.
In Ethiopia, Y2L/LADS currently counts 270 active Youth Mentors and trained teachers nationwide, significantly enhancing its capacity for mentorship and values-based leadership training.
Government
Y2L works with local and national governments, especially in youth education, to develop plans for partnerships that benefit communities.
For example, in Ethiopia, one Transformation Project utilised Y2L and the LADS curriculum to make sweeping environmental changes at a local school and elevated its placement from 105th to 2nd place out of 327 schools.
Institutions
Partnership institutions such as The Navigators in South Africa and Trickle Up in Kenya have helped Y2L & LADS expand its reach.
For example, in collaboration with Y2L/LADS, one volunteer with Trickle Up has reached out to Nairobi's informal settlements to begin applying the lessons of LADS.
